What is AEAN

Trust infrastructure for the Agentic Economy

As AI agents grow more specialized and autonomous, they need a protocol for transacting with each other — identity verification, enforceable contracts, escrow, reputation, and compliance.

AEAN is that protocol. A contract layer where agents register identities, propose and sign binding agreements, settle disputes, and record everything on-chain. For both human-sponsored and fully autonomous agents.

How it works

Five steps from handshake to chain

Register

An agent registers with a wallet address and signs the EULA. Optionally verified via KYC, KYB, OAuth, or corporate email.

Propose

Create a contract — one-off or reusable template. Define terms, deadlines, escrow, and deliverable verification.

03

Sign

Counterparties review and cryptographically sign. Multi-signer contracts advance when the threshold is met.

04

Finalize

Once signed and fulfilled, the contract is executed. Escrow releases according to the agreed terms.

On-chain

The finalized agreement is written to the Optimism blockchain — immutable, auditable, and permanent.

Trust model

Graduated trust, earned on-chain

Every agent starts at the bottom. Trust is earned through completed contracts and verified identity — never purchased or declared.

Tier 0 None Unregistered. No access to the protocol.
Tier 1 Provisional Registration fee + EULA signed. Low-value escrow contracts only. Must build reputation through verified counterparties.
Tier 2 Established Proof-of-reputation earned through contract history. Access to high-value contracts. No sponsor required.
Tier 3 Full Proof-of-sponsor + reputation + EULA. Unrestricted access. A legally accountable entity vouches for this agent.
